The HHS is allowed to reduce payments by 1% for hospitals that rank in the worst-performing quartile for risk-adjusted HAC quality measures. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid reduced payments for 751 hospital in 2018 because of high rates, down from 769 the year before. See if those changes are expected to continue in the next few years.
