It was a great pleasure to be a sponsor at the 2017 Gateway of Innovation Conference earlier this month and to meet all the local and visiting innovators.
We asked many of the guests to fill out a survey so we could learn more about them and where they stood on different aspects of technology like Big Data, Cloud Computing, Streaming, and the Internet of Things and we thought it would be interesting to show some of the results.
You can see the details below, but what probably shocked us the most is that there are still more than ONE THIRD of respondents who are not using the cloud! In addition, OVER HALF are not using predictive analytics in any way whatsoever.
We know these transitions can be met with great friction and barriers to adoption, but the point is not to create a perfect solution on the very first attempt. In fact, a survey that McKinsey ran last year revealed that "Cloud-savvy leaders... are testing and learning and adjusting their cloud programs accordingly" applying a "test-and-learn approach to roll out new automated capabilities and services, launching good-enough ones quickly and tweaking elements along the way."
